Patrick F. Edd, CFE
CEO, President, and Chair of the Board
Patrick has served at Annex Brands, Inc. since 1991. In 2018, he was promoted to his current position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), President, and Chair of the Company’s Board of Directors. Responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Company, Patrick sets the course for the Company’s policies and strategies and provides reporting to the Company’s Board of Directors.
Patrick studied at San Diego State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration as an Accounting major. After college, he earned the license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (retired) from the State of California while he spent four years as a financial auditor with the international accounting firm Touche Ross & Co.—currently known as Deloitte.
Patrick’s community outreach includes serving on the board and various related committees of St. Paul’s Senior Services, a San Diego based nonprofit, founded in 1960, which provides oversight of all organizational service lines such as housing, healthcare, hospice, and palliative care. This includes the affiliated entities of TRU Community Care, a Colorado based nonprofit, founded in 1976, and Trias Solutions, a healthcare management services organization.
Sean P. Hilly, CFE
Executive Vice President
Sean has been with Annex Brands since 1991. In 2016, he was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President. In this position, his responsibilities include strategic planning, training, store buildouts, vendor relations, and franchisee support.
Sean studied at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Immediately after college, he spent two years as a professional cyclist before he began his career in the industry as a manager of a retail mail and parcel center.
TanaSue Carpenter, CFE, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
TanaSue joined Annex Brands in June of 2012. In 2022, she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), making her the second CFO in Company history, and the first woman to hold the position. TanaSue handles the design, implementation, and supervision of all accounting functions and systems for Annex Brands. Her department assists both commercial and retail brands with franchise accounting, including the setup of individual location financial systems and their reporting functions.
TanaSue earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an Accounting major from the University of Phoenix in 2003. She then continued her education and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2006 from the same university. In 2015, TanaSue earned her license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of California.
Mary Ann Canup, CFE
Senior Vice President of Franchise Compliance
Mary Ann has been with Annex Brands, Inc. since 1994. She was elevated to her current title of Senior Vice President of Franchise Compliance in 2019, making her the second woman to hold an officer title in Company history.
Her duties include ensuring the Company’s compliance with franchise investment laws, managing franchise registration renewals and updates, and coordinating franchise resale transactions.
Ryan Heine, CFE
Senior Vice President of Franchising
Ryan joined Annex Brands, Inc. in 2002. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Franchising.
Ryan’s responsibilities are to develop and expand the franchise systems of Annex Brands, Inc. worldwide, both through internal unit growth and through assisting in the evaluation of external acquisition opportunities as they present themselves. He also assists in overseeing the Real Estate and Leasing function.
Ryan studied at the University of California San Diego, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy. Prior to joining the Company, he worked in a career placement firm, assisting people transitioning from military service into positions at Fortune 500 firms.
In his youth, Ryan attained the level of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Chris Kimball, CFE
Vice President of Real Estate and Leasing
Chris started with Annex Brands, Inc. in 2007. In 2020, he was promoted to his current title as Vice President of Real Estate & Leasing. His most recent promotion highlights his ongoing contributions and emphasizes the growing significance of real estate support, marking the first time this function has been elevated to a corporate officer role within the Company.
He oversees site development for new franchise locations, supports existing franchisees in lease negotiations and issues, and assists with franchise financing. He is the direct link between real estate developers, brokers, property managers, and the Home Office Franchising Team.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Virginia Tech University and holds a California Real Estate Broker License. Prior to joining Annex Brands, he oversaw the launch of new corporate accounts for a franchise network in the shipping and business industry.
Chris also volunteers as a youth soccer coach, and is involved with the Special Olympics of San Diego.
Michelle McKee, CFE
Vice President of Marketing
Michelle joined Annex Brands, Inc. in 2020 as the Executive Director of Marketing. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in 2021, making her the fourth woman in Company history to hold an officer position.
Her department is responsible for all marketing and communications initiatives for Annex Brands and the franchise system. Her team provides brand designs, marketing tools, programs, training, and support to guide franchisees in local marketing efforts, in addition to management of websites, digital marketing, public relations, and franchise system communications.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in TV, Film & Media from San Diego State University. She supports higher learning efforts at San Diego State University each semester as a guest speaker for the Retail Marketing Methods course, and through other partnership efforts. She also enjoys giving back to others and actively volunteers at various local and national nonprofit organizations.
Dan Cox, CFE
Vice President of Franchise Services
Dan originally joined Annex Brands, Inc. as a PostalAnnex franchisee in 1999. In March 2005, he became the Company’s Franchise Services Coordinator. In 2019, he was promoted to the position of Executive Director of Franchise Services. In 2025, he was elevated to the position of Vice President of Franchise Services.
His primary responsibility is to manage the center support function for the retail business model, which includes providing initial and ongoing training, supporting the point-of-sale software system, assisting franchisees with operational questions, and assessing new products and vendors.
Brett Monson, CFE
Vice President of Technology & Logistics
Brett joined Annex Brands, Inc. as the Logistics Service Manager when Navis Pack & Ship was acquired in 2011. Prior to that, he had been with Navis Pack & Ship since 2005. In 2023, he was promoted to Executive Director of Technology & Logistics. Then in 2025, he was elevated to the position of Vice President of Technology & Logistics.
Brett oversees the strategy, design, implementation, and execution of ABConnect Operating System. He also leads the National Logistics Services team, which coordinates the fulfillment of orders through ABConnect. In addition, Brett has been instrumental in expanding the freight carrier selection available to Annex Brands through negotiation of tariffs, implementation of technology integrations, relationship management, and back-office functions.
